12.9 inch iPad coming in 2014?

Rumors are again circulating that Apple is creating a 12.9 inch iPad which will be released in late 2014 according to The Korea Times. Apparently Apple has

asked one of its key suppliers to build a 12.9 inch screen for the iPad. Speculation is that it could be some type of an iPad/Macbook combo, but this is not likely. The other option is that it could be a screen for a new Macbook air with possible touch-screen capabilities.

The Wall Street Journal also reported that Apple has been working on an iPad that is measuring slightly less than 13 inches. We will start to hear more rumors of this as it gets closer to 2014, but the question has to be asked: would consumers even be interested in a device that big.
